Party & Bullshit

(dress, clutch, heels all from Zara)

Somehow this summer I became a Zara whore, spending all my disposable income there (I actually adore sale season at Zara). I wore this to my boyfriend's birthday 2 weeks ago...I've been making the dough and going to school this summer so I haven't had much time to update, so you get 2 week old outfits.

He's so tall this photo of me is actually in a weird perspective and totally unflattering :(
Also I look like an inverted Christmas tree with my red dress and green bag -- what was I thinking??

One of the highlights of that weekend was making bacon-wrapped eggs.

Kingston, quite pretty at night. Also no crazy homeless people saying cray cray things, which is always appreciated.

I baked chocolate cupcakes with marshmellow cream icing in lieu of a real cake, they were pretty good.

Television Train

(leather jacket - michael kors; silk shirt, vest, jeans - forever21; belt, sandals - thrift; bag - aldo)
Some outfits from my trip to San Diego...it's difficult living out of a suitcase with only a few articles of clothing...
I wore the same jeans for almost the whole week!

I'm also mourning the loss of my 3-fingered bar ring at the US customs..
I'm not trained in secret martial arts, I swear!
And it's NOT a brass knuckle, guys.

(everything from f21 except bag from Aldo, thrifted belt and necklace, and skirt from H&M)

I have so many (different-ish) photos because I made my mom my photo bitch for the duration of the trip, haha.

(army jacket - vintage from urban outfitters; dress - thrift)
The sea is amaaaaazing, and I love all the rocks and cliffs that surround the sea compared to lame sand.
The days I were there was super rainy, like more than ever. The sea was really stormy, and it was kind of cool.

Getting wet at Sea World.

I loveeeeeed the Getty Center. So many things to see! Ornate french furnishings, 'nuff said.

Flamingos are cool.

Good shoes for the rainy yet warmish weather.

Lamesauce oxfords that I added the blue trim to,
but clearly not very well since I got paint on the shoe it self.

Nom nom nom food shots.
Food didn't actually taste very good, lol.

Actually this Getty burger was really good.

Got back just in time for Boxing Day (spent all of Christmas Day on airplanes/in airports, I deserve it.)
I did a lot of shopping (mostly belated Christmas things) at H&M because there isn't one in Ottawa and I miss shopping there so much!
Going to use my Groupon for American Apparel tomorrow! Candice and I are going to do more shopping in the infamous downtown Toronto (right).

I really should be asleep. Have a good shopping week for all y'all Canadians and a good break for the rest of ya!

real / null

and then I got dressed later.

shirt: H&M // acid wash jeans, scarf as belt, and purse: thrifted // shoes: Aldo

(what the heck, I look like I'm missing an arm!)

My goodness, this President's Choice ice cream is so heavenly especially on a hot summer day. And the best part? Eating it straight from the tub baby!

Now here's my cat rolling around, chillin' on my brother's bed by the window under the sunlight. Yeah I think we can all tell that he was enjoying his afternoon (just as much as I did) ♡

I've decided to get this tatt done sometime in the next few months. Maybe not at my wrist since that's a pretty high traffic area thus fades fast. I still have a while to think about it.

down by the water

On Sunday we hung with a few friends and made a feast together. Mango salad, mashed potato, parmesan chicken, good'ol chilli, and BBQ chicken wings. Can you say delicious?

Took a few hours but hard work paid off! I'm salivating at 1am right now.

New bag! Only 15$ from Aldo.

(blazer, bangles: thrift; ring, jeans: f21; tee: urban planet; bag, star necklace, leather cuff: aldo;
sunnies: eBay; heels: g-market)

Jennifer's been iffy about her hair ever since she had to dye her precious blue hair to black. It's fading to a brassy colour but hey, she thinks it amuses her very much so it's not too bad right? lol

oversized denim shirt: thrifted // tee: Zipia // jeans: F21 // scarf: American Apparel // shoes: Aldo

So I started working on this painting today for my summer course (ahem, science?) that I have to write a report on. It's nothing completely original.. well, as in I pretty much appropriated a piece found on Tumblr and revised it.

Still a work in progress; needs a lot more fixing of course. Come to realize, I haven't picked up a paint brush for a year. It's almost embarrassing posting this.. lol :(

you are my muse

necklace: H&M // belt: vintage // leggings: F21 // cape sweater, shoes, bracelet: Zipia.net

Yes, cape sweater again—belting it this time.

I bought these lace leggings on an impulse last July but I never got around wearing them since nothing in my wardrobe quite "matched."
This is the first I'm wearing them! I think I did an alright job lol. Opinions?

This cake was delishhh! Strawberry meringue with crusty layers from Second Cup (it's almost like the Canadian version of Starbucks but not quite).
Pair this with their green tea latte.. my day would be complete!

I found this little creation (most likely by some upperyears) on the window of one of our studios.
"Design is a cult!"
haha, being a design student, I can mildly agree.
And as Oskar pointed out, design is a cunt too.

PS. Thank you all for your kind comments!

l'autobus trois

I'm back from Montreal!
I had a a great time with everyone.
All 150 of us dominated the entire hotel since the trip was organized by my affiliated college.
We got to party hard in the halls unlike in residence haha.

I didn't bring my dslr, in fear of having it stolen (as warned by a friend).
So these point-and-shoot photos shall suffice.

One part of the Festival Lumiere.
The spiky inflated sculptures changes colours.

At the Biodome. There were blue star fish! I didn't know that those existed.

Poutine with Italian sausages.
Most authentic poutine I've ever had in my life!
I can't recall the name of the restaurant but it's in Old Montreal.
The buildings and roads in Old Montreal were beautiful. I felt like I was in Europe!

We went to Old Montreal. Tons of art galleries.
We went by a contemporary furniture store but unfortunately it was closed.

Book case! There were other ones too, like Coach, Gucci, YSL, but I liked the Chanel one the most.

Unfortunately, I was too busy being a tourist to get any outfit shots at all.
But I promise, I didn't look sloppy!

PS. Check out this song and video by Vampire Weekend.
Love the cameo of Jake Gyllenhaal!

One of my favourite bands and this video is just hilarious.
